REVIEW OF NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY, 2020
The new National Education Policy 2020 proposes the revision and revamping of all aspects of education in India. Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kalathara imbibed the key aspects of the policy from the beginning of the Academic year 2021 – 22 itself.
- Collaborative learning initiatives : We are providing platform to exchange ideas and best practices among teachers .
- Community outreach programmes – To strengthen ties with the local community , all are actively involved in community outreach programs.
- We started the Pre – KG class for the age group of 3 from the Academic year 2021 – 22 with 3 students in the first batch and continuing with 23 students in this Academic year.
- Sanskrit is introduced as an optional language from Class III onwards from the Academic year 2022 – 23.
- All the activities as well as competitions in the Vidyalaya are being conducted as per the category of stages mentioned in the NEP from the present Academic year. i.e. Foundational Stage, Preparatory Stage, Middle Stage & Secondary Stage.
- The duties of teachers in Examination department are also allotted as per the new Academic structure mentioned in NEP.
- NEP suggests minimum 50 hours of Professional Development for teachers during an academic year. Teachers of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kannamaly completed 50 hours of CPD during the past Academic year & by this time of the present Academic year, on an average, almost 30 hours of CPD completed.
- • Art integrated activities and art integrated projects are being done by students in all subjects & in all classes from the previous Academic year onwards.
- As per the guidance obtained from CCMTEC, a map of India is erected as a visual learning aid in the campus in an area where it is visible for all. This serves the purpose of learning through the 4 C’s – Classroom, Corridor, Campus & Community
- Health & Wellness, being a Mandatory skill as mentioned in NEP, more opportunities in the field of Sports • To develop a flavour towards Art in the young minds, the walls in KG are painted with Warli art, which is also part of BaLa (Building as Learning aid).
My dear well-wishers of Chinmaya West Kochi,
At this occasion of entering into the 29th year of Excellence, I offer prayerful gratitude to our Pujya Gurudev for his unfailing guidance throughout the period of our performance. The support and encouragement by the School Advisory Board Members, Management, parents, students and well-wishers are indeed praise worthy. The strenuous effort of the teachers has been bountifully blessed and we are thankful to them for the same. We have started the admissions for the Academic year 2024 – 25 & it is under progress.
I wish well and expect all to live up to the Motto:“ CHINMAYA STANDS FOR EXCELLENCE”
With this, I come to the conclusion of the Annual Report, and look forward to the next academic year’s opportunities and achievements.
Thanking one and all, I most humbly submit this report before you.
